    Benefits of Air Duct Cleaning

Posted on July 18th, 2022 by Mike Corliss

    Benefits of Air Duct Cleaning

There are many benefits of air duct cleaning. Some of them are as follows: a decrease in allergy symptoms, extended HVAC system life, and reduced wear and tear. These are just a few of the benefits of air duct cleaning. If you’re looking for a more comprehensive list, consider the following:

    Reduces allergens

To get rid of allergens from the air in your home, consider having your ducts cleaned by a professional company. This can help to reduce the levels of dust in your home. Dust is sticky and is the main culprit for the buildup of allergens. It settles on floors, furniture, and horizontal surfaces, where it is likely to become airborne. If you are allergic to dust or other allergens, air duct cleaning is the best way to eliminate the dust from your home.

Dust mites are another source of indoor allergens. They are microscopic creatures that live in the air and carry pollen from plants. These mites are a common cause of allergies and can aggravate asthma or other respiratory conditions. These creatures can be very difficult to identify. In addition to dust mites, they can cause watery eyes, swollen lips, and itching.

    Reduces wear and tear

In a home, excessive buildup of dust and other contaminants can cause damage to HVAC components. This wear and tear will ultimately reduce the life of your HVAC system. In addition, dirty air ducts can become breeding grounds for insects and rodents that can spread diseases. If these creatures are allowed to multiply in the ducts, they can eventually destroy your HVAC system and lead to expensive repairs. Thus, regular duct cleaning is important to maintain the health of your family.

Dirty air ducts can also result in poor indoor air quality. Dirty air ducts can harbor a variety of allergens. Prolonged exposure to these allergens can exacerbate existing respiratory conditions. Furthermore, dust and particles accumulated in ductwork are likely to settle on surfaces in the home, making them difficult to clean. Regular air duct cleaning can help prevent these problems while reducing the amount of time and energy needed to clean your air ducts.

    Extends life of HVAC system

Dirty air filters can decrease the life of your HVAC system. A professional air duct cleaner will replace dirty filters and perform a thorough inspection of your HVAC system. They will also check for possible problems and perform any necessary repairs. Performing routine maintenance can help prolong the life of your HVAC system, and can prevent expensive repairs and replacement parts. Regular air duct cleaning can also extend the life of your HVAC system.

Keeping your HVAC system clean will extend its life and ensure maximum performance. Dirty ducts will reduce the air flow in your home, which will result in higher utility bills. A clean HVAC system will help your HVAC system run more efficiently, saving you money in the long run. Regular air duct cleaning is essential for a well-maintained system. It is also important to avoid a malfunction or repair due to dirt and debris.

    Prevents fires

A sprinkler system is the most effective way to control a fire, but it’s not foolproof. It can’t prevent every fire and can actually speed up the spread. Without proper air duct cleaning, your sprinkler system can’t do its job. And because a fire can spread quickly, you need to make sure that you get your system cleaned regularly. Otherwise, you’re putting your house at risk of disaster.

Dust that has accumulated in your ducts poses a fire hazard. Dust is flammable and can start a fire with a spark or a hot surface. The more dust that builds up, the higher the risk. According to NFPA 654, annex D, ducts should be cleaned when a layer of dust reaches 1/32-inch thick. That’s about 5% of the floor area. We work with many businesses in the Elk Grove Village, IL industrial area.

    Reduces odors

When your air ducts are dirty, you have a lot to be worried about, but it’s not always the result of mold and bacteria. Your home’s air ducts can also be affected by pet odor, as fur and dander can collect and disperse their scent throughout the house. One particularly offensive odor is the smell of pet urine, which can cling to the dirt and grime inside them. This odor can linger for years, and it can be very offensive to people who live in a home with pets.

Some of the sources of unpleasant odors in the air ducts are paint fumes, cigarettes, and household cleaning agents. Dust and dirt also contribute to a musty smell. However, thorough air duct cleaning can remove these odor-producing particles and improve the quality of the air in your home. If you notice the odor in your air ducts, it’s probably due to a buildup of particles that trap smells. Remove the smell and make your Elgin, IL home breathable again.

    Saves money

Many people don’t realize that air duct cleaning can save you money. The process of cleaning them can also improve the quality of the air in your home. Dirty air ducts are a prime culprit of indoor air contamination. They pick up dust particles and other allergens from the air in your home and re-circulate them throughout your house. This leads to a build-up of these contaminants in your duct work. The re-circulation of these contaminants may cause respiratory problems or aggravate existing conditions. In addition to this, poor indoor air quality can deteriorate your immune system and make you more susceptible to illnesses and allergies.

Another benefit of air duct cleaning is that it can improve your HVAC system’s energy efficiency. The cleaner your air ducts are, the less energy they will have to use, which means lower utility bills. You’ll also be saving money by preventing leaks from the heating and cooling system. If you are worried about the cost of energy, you can contact a professional air duct cleaner to get your HVAC system cleaned.

Needed my air ducts cleaned following a remodeling project. The house is 2000 sq ft. They cleaned all supply and return lines in my home. They also did the dryer vent line. The last one time the ducts were cleaned was about 20 years ago. The technician showed me that one of the supply lines wasn’t cleaned last time because there was no sheet metal sealing up the old hole. That was good to know. They also added a small hole to the runs to use an agitator in the duct. When they we’re done they closed up the panels and even taped all the seams. The extra cost and time to add that HVAC tape is a sign of a quality job. They seemed to have good equipment to do a good job. They spent a few hours at my house, really cleaning the lines well. I would recommend this company.

I had Dave come to clean the dryer vent and he also reattached the duct that was not installed properly when I purchased the dryer a month ago. I could feel heat and smell fabric softener every time I ran the dryer after he fixed it I haven’t had a problem since.
